DPP Has Doubts About Police Account Of Tyson Rodriguez’s Death
posted (November 27, 2013)

The family of 27 year-old Tyson Rodriguez believe that police officer killed him while in their custody, and that they should be brought to justice for it. The police officers are denying that they did anything to cause his death, and they claim that he died of natural causes, which they didn't even see. So, after having seen all the evidence so far, what does the Director of Public Prosecutions think?

Well, 7News spoke to her today, after she met with the investigating officer.  She told us that she has perused the statements sent to her by the police yesterday and is of the view that the version of events given by the officers who were escorting Rodriguez raises more questions than answers, particularly in light of the findings of the forensic examiner who performed the post-mortem examination.

DPP Vidal says however that the matter requires further investigation and that no charges are imminent.
