George Hyde Arraigned For Canadian Murder
posted (December 24, 2013)
Today, 34 year old George Hyde was arraigned for the murder of 68 year old Canadian Keith Haslam Dawson. As we reported last night, he was charged close to 7:00 pm after the DPP reviewed his confession and told police to proceed with murder charges.

Hyde confessed to police that he killed Haslam Dawson because he was jealous of the relationship that the Canadian had with Ruth Jones. She was married to the Canadian, but she was also having an affair with him. Police told us that they feel they have a strong case:

Insp. Reymundo Reyes - Deputy OC, San Ignacio Police
"The directive was given. He was formally arrested and charge last night. This morning he was arraigned at the San Ignacio Magistrate Court and he has been remanded to Prison."

Daniel Ortiz
"Sir, can give us an idea why he wasn't charged immediately? We were made to understand that you guys were getting additional statements. Without going into the details of that statement, can you give us an idea as to what was necessary for this charge to be laid this time?"

Insp. Reymundo Reyes - Deputy OC, San Ignacio Police
"On all major investigation, we ought to consult the office the director of public persecutions. We get witness statements and police reports, we forward it to her office and after perusing, if there is further work to be done then she ask us ask to what we need to get and send it back to her so that she could make the proper that yes she could give the go ahead and police could go ahead and arrest and charge."

In November of this year, Ruth Jones and George Hyde were charged for perjury after police say they gave false information in the still unsolved Orlando Smith murder.
