Belize’s Military Brass To Britain
posted (January 21, 2014)
Belize's top military commanders are wrapping up an official visit to the United Kingdom.

BDF Commander General David Jones, and Coast Guard Commander Rear Admiral John Borland, met with Defence Minister Dr Andrew Murrison as well as senior British military officers.

They were there to take part in an international maritime security capability conference and exhibition which ended ten days ago. After that finished, they attended what are described as high level meetings at the UK Ministry of Defence and at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

They were also hosted on board HMS Argyll which will be deploying to the Caribbean later this year.

A statement from the British High Commissioner to Belize Peter Hughes says, quote, "We are committed to working with international partners to provide further assistance in the form of training and expertise."
