Belize has been a member country of the Inter-Development Bank since 1997, and to date, the country has made around 190 million dollars in loans from the bank. As one of the largest donors to the country, the IDB has been working closely with different government administrations, and in December, it gave the green light on a country strategy to be implemented for the next 4 years.
The Financial Secretary and the IDB’s country representative explained its significance:
The country strategy’s main goals are to assist in education, tourism, transport, trade, and tax policy.
