Dara's 12th Bob Concert
posted (February 7, 2014)
Grassroots Philanthropist Dara Robinson continues his fundraising efforts for the less fortunate. This weekend he is having his 12th annual Bob Marley Birthday tribute concert. The concert is not only to celebrate the life of the reggae icon - it is to also raise money for needy families. On Thursday he held a food drive that turned out to be successful. But with all that he is still urging everyone to come out to the concert on Sunday and donate at least one can of food.

Kwame Scott, promoter
"First and foremost I want to say on behalf of Dara's Feeding Program we are grateful and we give nuff' thanks to all those who came our yesterday for the 5th annual food drive and gave generously whether it was big or small; the primary schools, the elder folks, some of the business houses, everyone who came out and gave to the food drive - we give thanks because the feeding program is the most important thing at the bottom of all of this."

"Now this Sunday on big Birds Isle we will be paying musical tribute to the late great legend father of reggae Mr. Robert Bob Nesta Marley. He would have been 69 years this year and as we know his music lives on. So many things that he said 20,30 years ago still relevant today. we believe that in an effort to promote positivity through music and raise much needed funds for Dara's Feeding Program this is a fitting way and this is like the commercial says the 12th annual Bob Marley's tribute. We will feature Dara's big screen showing video of Bob Marley live in performance etc., his sons and family members and friends and we have some of the best DJs around to give you positive music in the interim. We have DJ Dala, Tony G, Lindy D, Mad Rocker Mose, Unity Sounds, Cloud Nine Sounds - we invite everyone to come out to the big Birds Isle this Sunday from 4 until midnight. Admissions $7 plus good behavior - you won't be sorry. The barrel will be there if you missed the food drive to bring along a little food to drop in the barrel - give thanks."

The concert starts at 4 on Sunday evening on the Bird's Isle Basketball court.
