"The nurse told me that he would have come out of the hospital well, they would have taken out the thing from his throat and they would have teach him how to walk but 2 days after my husband got worse and the doctor said that he had complications because of the stab wound."

Monica Bodden
"He had water in his lungs?"

Lorraine Ferguson - Wife of Deceased
"He had water in his lungs and they say that his heart was too weak, it wasn't functioning well and bacteria was in his blood and his pressure goes up and down."

Ferguson was stabbed once to the centre of his chest by his nephew 36 year-old Oliver Peters -hours after an agreement on the family property. Just after midnight on December 7th while inside his home along with his family sleeping - Ferguson heard a noise coming from outside his house. The family says it was Peters carving derogatory words with a knife into the wall of their house - that same knife would later become the murder weapon used on Ferguson.

Lorraine Ferguson - Wife of Deceased
"Thursday he had an argument with my husband saying that he will shed my husband's blood. He said: "I will shed your blood," that is what he told him right in front of all his kids and my daughter told him "Oliver, you will not touch my father in front of me" and that was how he backed off. So Friday night he came back and rake the knife on the door and as my husband opened the door to see who it was, he stab him straight in his chest."

Clarence Pascasio - Nephew of Deceased/Cousin of Accused
"The night when I came here I met him at the back here because he was here lingering around the family yard, so I called the police, I stayed back and have he police picked him up and took him and when he went to the police station - he said that he got what he deserved and that he did it for a reason because due to a little situation with the family. He is someone who always goes to drink and comes back here and tortures and harasses his own family. He always wants to disrespect his family."

Thomas Ferguson Sr. leaves behind 8 children - the youngest only 6 years old. His wife, now a widow is left with the burden of paying his 29,000 dollar medical bill at the KHMH.

Monica Bodden
"Could you even tell us where to start how you are going to pay this bill?"

Lorraine Ferguson - Wife of Deceased
"I don't even have a job. He was the breadwinner. He was the one who was bringing every thing in for the children and me. I don't know how that bill will be paid $28,000 - I don't know how it will be paid because the family doesn't really have the money to say well to help me assist to pay the bill. I am the one who signed it, so if anything I will be the one to face the court."

And blood relative or not, this family wants justice for their loved one.

Monica Bodden
"If he is watching this news right now, if you could say one thing what would that be?"

Clarence Pascasio - Nephew of Deceased/Cousin of Accused
"Well, when he goes to court, if they give him life he deserves what he gets. All we want is for him to spend his time and stay behind bars and think about what he did and what all he has put his own family through."

Oliver Peters has not yet been taken back to court to be charged for murder.
