Hon. Finnegan Back Home, Back In Order
posted (February 27, 2014)
And while Bradley isn't sure whether he's coming or going, Michael Finnegan is here to stay. The Mesopotamia incumbent and UDP Party Whip left Belize a month ago to get back surgery - his second in less than a year. During his absence baseless rumours circulated saying that he was in critical condition, and then today, another one took off saying that he'd died! Well he didn't. And we can be sure of that because we found him back at his evening hang out spot today, right in front of Brad's on Central American Boulevard. He told Monica Bodden he just returned and is feeling renewed:..

Hon. Michael Finnegan
"I came in on the American Airlines flight at 3:30 from Dallas. I had a surgery last year in May in Houston, but apparently that surgery didn't work out and the ailment persist, so tried this miracle doctor in New Port Beach California seeking help - the same guy who operated on Prime Minister's back, he was the guy who did the surgery and I could have been home two weeks ago but I just stay in California and decided to relax. I haven't taken a break in years and decided to take a little break for myself and stay out there. I did the surgery on the 2nd February and like 5-6 days after the surgery I was ready to go."

" I want to believe that I am doing extremely well, I don't want to be over optimistic, but I am very optimistic at the same time because when I left from here I was barely walking. I had a defect in the left side of my hip. The doctor said that was caused by fragments which was left in my back from the surgery which I did in May in Houston Texas. So they removed those fragments and they did other works in the back removing bone spores etc. For about two and a half hours surgery, I am feeling extremely well. Thank God for that, all praises due to Allah."

Finnegan is a five term incumbent in his division and had the largest margin of victory for the UDP in the last general election.
