No Arrest In case Of Man Hit In Head
posted (February 27, 2014)
Tonight, 22 year old Carlos Vargas is at the KHMH receiving treatment for injuries he sustained when he was hit in the head with an iron tube. It's an assault that happened 2 weeks ago, but the family is getting frustrated with the investigating officers who haven't arrested the person he claims clubbed him. 7News spoke with Vargas today on the hospital bed, and here is what he told us.

Carlos Vargas
"I was hit on the head. I received internal injuries. It was teenage boy who hit me. That Saturday I was playing basketball on the court and he was teasing me. I told him to respect me and so I left it at that, then it was seconds after that he came with an iron tube and hit me on the back of the head. I began bleeding a lot. I became dizzy, there was blood everywhere. He went back to his house, I was then taken to the hospital, but before I wanted to give a report to the Burrel Boom police but no one was there at the time. I then arrive at the hospital where the doctor looked at me, I could not talk for days because the injury was nearly fatal. I nearly went into surgery, I could have died. Last week a police officer came to get my report here at the hospital but since then nothing has happen. I understand that the boy who hit me is still free that no one has detained him. It bothers me because he could have killed me. If I had done it then I would be in trouble."

According to Vargas, his attending physicians tell him that he has several blood clots in his head that they are monitoring closely.
