And while Staine is stepping down, the president of the Belize Basketball Federation Paul Thompson is stepping up.
On Saturday in Honduras, at the yearly congress of The Confederation of Central American Basketball known as COCABA, Thompson was elected Vice President. Yamil Bukele of El Salvador was elected President of and Marcela Mejia was elected Secretary. The executive serves until 2018.
Thompson departed today for Istanbul, Turkey to take part in an extraordinary congress of FIBA where he will join delegates from 200 of FIBA's 213 member federations.
