Drawing From Mexico
posted (April 1, 2014)
The Institute of Mexico is hosting its first art exhibit for 2014. It is called Graphic Coincidences- a series of drawings by 3 Mexican artists from the School of Fine and Visual Arts in Quintana Roo.

The exhibition was presented in 2013 at the Museum of the Mayan Culture in Chetumal, and now they are in Belize to showcase their work. We found out more:

Marcelino Miranda, Press Officer, Mexican Embassy
"The Mexican Embassy is pleased to present 3 young artists from Quintana Roo who are presenting their works for the first time in Belize. As the title is a graphic coincidence. They decided that they are going to coincide in certain things in order to come together in this exhibition. One of them is that they setup as a main subject, so they are using different perspectives in order to show their own approach to the human body. The public will see that they are applying different techniques that they have learnt during their school years, the Academy of Arts in Quintana Roo. Two of the three artists are female and two of them are going to be here at the exhibition and this is part of the efforts of the Mexican Embassy to increase or to nurture the cultural and the artistic dialogue between Mexico and Belize by presenting these young artists. The embassy among other objectives wants to inspire young artists in Belize and also for those who haven't have any contact with art or with exhibitions to try to inspire and try to bring them into in contact with this type of art that is drawings. I would like to underline that the exhibitions is basically drawings and they are presented for the first time in Belize."

The exhibition opens tonight at the Institute of Mexican and remains open until April 10th.
