FFB Stadium Undergoing Major Overhaul
posted (April 8, 2014)
The pitch at the FFB stadium in Belmopan is considered the finest in Belize - but it's been gutted because it's not really all that good.

It's part of a major renovation, with a budget of $500,000 US dollars to get it done.

FFB representatives tell us that the field, the locker room, the bleachers, VIP area and the Administration buildings will all get construction upgrades, and the lighting will be changed to meet international standards.

The works started 3 weeks ago, and the upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of May, or the beginning of June.

One of the main reasons that this renovation has become important is that the FFB is trying to become compliant with the standards set for stadiums used to play games in the CONCACAF Champions League. Viewers may remember that Belize couldn't participate in the Champions League 2013-2014 due to a list of regulations the country didn't meet, one of them being the quality of the FFB Stadium.
