Security Guard Remanded For Weapon

He may be a security guard, but 34 year-old Mauricio Perez is at prison tonight after he was taken to court for allegedly having an illegal firearm in his possession.

According to police, on last Tuesday, they went to his work place. He's a security guard, but according to police, he didn't have licenses to carry a 9mm pistol with 7 live rounds of ammunition. That's what they reported caught him with, while he was on duty.

Perez was charged with keeping an unlicensed firearm, and keeping unlicensed ammunition. He was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate where he pleaded not guilty, but was remanded to prison. He'll he be taken back to court on June 17.
