The Other Side Of The Kevin Connor Killing
posted (May 21, 2014)

Last night we reported on the murder of 15 year old Kevin Connor – the teenage boy who was found in an area adjoining Jane Usher Boulevard - with two gunshot wounds to the face. There is no latest information on his murder but as we told you last night, Conner was a suspect for the recent murder of Patrick Bevans. Yesterday his family told us his death came as no surprise because he was a target in the streets. But in that interview, Connor's mother made some allegations that have left Bevans's in laws furious. Today they spoke with 7news.

"Why we call the media is that we aren't too happy. We aren't too pleased, and we aren't satisfied with Ms. Connor's against our sister. We sympathize with her, but you can't be accusing anybody if you aren't 100% sure. She made a comment on the news last night that the murder of Patrick Bevans is the reasons why they killed her son, and it's because of Patrick Bevan's common-law wife, who is my sister, she say was calling up her son's name, that it was him who killed Mr. Bevans. So, according to her, that's why they killed her son. We are here to tell her that that's not correct, for you to get on TV and say something like that is just wrong. You can't just go on TV accusing this person without knowing that it's her. The day when Mr. Bevans died, she was at work; she got the news a little bit after 8. She came and found her common-law's body on the ground. She didn't call any name any name because she didn't see. What we understood is that the police held the young man for 3 days and then he was released, but my sister was the one who told the police that the person who they have as a suspect, was the wrong person that they held. She knows that the young man didn't kill her common-law. So now, for the mother of Mr. Kevin to get on the news and say that she hopes that our family is satisfied that they killed her son. You don't have any proof or evidence, you just can't be saying those things on the media because you don't know how much it affects my sister. Another remark that she made was that there son was at home at the time of Bevan's murder, if you review your tapes on the scene, you'll see him right there. The people who Connor used to hang out with started threatening my sister, telling her that she better watch back because she will be next. You see the damage she did by calling out family and putting our name out there like we're some sort of "Nino Brown", like we pay people to kill this one and that one? Anybody who know the Gonguez family, we aren't rich. We are poor just like the other out there, and we would never do that because we have brothers and sisters."

Police have no suspects for the Connors murder, and no arrests were made for the Bevans murder but Connors and another young man were questioned as possible suspects.
