Last night on the news, we told you about Leon Gentle, the employee of Yhony Rosado who was charged for the coma-inducing assault on Vitalino Reyes Jr, the son of Rosdo’s chief business rival, Vitalino Sr.

But the police investigation doesn’t end with that arrest. Â Police have been continuing their investigation, and according to Yhony Rosado, they’re now disrupting his business, and harassing his entire staff. This afternoon, he and a number of his employees went into the Queen Street Police Station – that’s after over a dozen of them were picked up this morning. This afternoon in front of the Queen Street Police station, Rosado told us why he’s going to the police before they come for him:

"This is the very beauty about this country. The media put out a story and pressured the department to do their job, and the department is doing a hell of a job. The problem is why should I be coming for all my - if somebody or a group from BTL commit, should they lock up everybody? That's exactly what's happening, everybody, even for the ones who are not - I have to bring everybody. If I don't bring them, they will start to investigate them or I don't know, charge them."

"When did the call come to you? How were you notified to bring in your employees?"

"Right at the tourism village, as the workers came in, they picked them up in truck."

"Was a police mobile out there?"

Yhony Rosado
"Yes, it's just like when they come to pick you up, Geovannie, black uniform, let's go, you wanted by police. Right off the job, we aren't running from them. We already came to them from the very first time when this broke out on Friday. Saturday, we went to them, and on Monday, we did everything. We already gave them all the information. But, the way this thing is playing is it's like we were the only ones who were in there with those guys. It wasn't like that; there were other people in the place, and they went and messed with the wrong people. They got themselves into trouble, and we couldn't do anything."

"They charged one of your employees, yesterday, any comments?"

Yhony Rosado
"It's like I said, they charged the black sheep of the family. He wasn't with us, but the young man who came out on the media on Friday, he mentioned my name so many times, we mentioned Leon's name so many times, so of course, they're going to charge us. I'm just asking, why should all the employees be brought up to the station like criminals? I gave the names of the people who were there. There were only 6 of us in there."

"So, you have an alibi saying that Mr. Gentle wasn't there?"

Yhony Rosado
"Geovannie, if you weren't there, you weren't there with me." 

Rosado claims that Leon Gentle, who police have criminally charged, wasn't even at the bar, and so he's wrongfully accused.

In case you missed the background on the story, last Thursday evening Vitalino Reyes Jr. was allegedly beaten by a group of Rosado’s employees in a Belize City bar. Â Reyes Jr remains in a coma. Rosado and his employees have flatly denied any involvement, claiming that they didn’t go anywhere near Reyes.
