PM To Dominican Republic For SICA

Prime Minister Dean Barrow left the country today. He will attend a Summit of the Central American Integration System, known as SICA. Usually such meetings are attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, but the Prime Minister is going because the rotating presidency of SICA will be handed over to Belize.

It is the 43rd Summit of SICA Heads of State and Government and it starts on Thursday morning in Puntacana, in the east of the Dominican Republic.

Belize will hold the SICA Presidency for six months.

The Prime Minister returns next week Monday and Gaspar Vega will be acting Prime Minister.
