Puerto said it was all police work that led to the 19 year old's arrest and it had nothing to do with her son.

"I just came to give a brief statement concerning the situation of the young man George McKenzie that got arrested and charged for my son Paul Alvarez, because according to the police he is the one that shot my son on November 15th last year and the situation is that his mom got on TV on the news and talk a lot of stuff that is not real because she says that nobody from "jungle" likes her son and the police and "jungle" people harassed her son and stuff like that. Well on behalf of the police I don't know. But on behalf of us, nobody from "jungle" have no problem with anybody. It's Majestic Alley - they are ones who are creating problems and she said that how her son doesn't go anywhere further than her house to Chon Saan Palace. But she doesn't know the real deal of her son and she must realize that kids will not always tell you what you want to know. They will tell you what they want to tell you because after hours in the night when her son is out with other guys in vehicle - trodding around our area showing the guys gun finger and threatening them - where is she? She doesn't know that is happening. We know her son, it's not just now I know George McKenzie, I know him a long time ago and she is not being real because she got on the news and said at CYDP my son said he doesn't know who shot him. He didn't say that, He said at the time of the thing he doesn't remember what happened and that is what he was stating to her at the time of the CYDP meeting. All he said that after he started to recover he remember a tall red skin person with a big nose. That is what he said and he said that it can't be the young man who they have arrested and charged - the young man Pou, because he is too short and the skin is not light enough - it's a different complexion. But i don't know what Melissa Major got against us because then its word on the street is bringing her son to where he is. It's not like anybody got and say that it is him, it's just word on the street and the police did their job. What they do we have no business with. We can't do anything to what the police did, that is their job. But she is trying to paint my son black. My son doesn't have any problem with anybody. My son is not innocent. My son gives problem, my son is a thief and he robs people - I am not afraid to say that because that is what he did. He did not pick up and gun and shot nobody no day. Two times he got shot and he wants to know up to this day why he was shot."

Alvarez is the father of 2 children. He was shot twice at the same location within a ten month span.
