Acquitted In Trial Without Jury
posted (July 3, 2014)
21 year-old Terry Munnings was acquitted today before Justice Troadio Gonzalez of attempted murder in a trial without jury. He was accused of stabbing 25 year-old Donovan Pratt under the armpit.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on April 30, 2011, at a basketball court in the Japan area of Ladyville. The Crown Counsel, Leroy Banner, prosecuted the case against Munnings, and he called the victim as his chief witness. The prosecution's case started to fall apart when Pratt testified that he was not certain who stabbed him.

Justice Gonzalez ruled that there was no evidence against Munnings and therefore he had no case to answer to. With that, Justice Gonzalez dismissed the attempted murder charge against him. Normally, he would have been free to go, but he is currently serving a 5-year sentence for a firearm conviction. He was then escorted back to prison to continue serving his sentence.
