The first leg of the World Cup Quarterfinals were played today in two of the most hotly anticipated match-ups: perennial European powerhouses France versus Germany from Maracana Stadium in the morning and South American powers: Brazil and Columbia in the afternoon from Estadio Castelao in the afternoon.
For world cup fans, it was a feast - but a feast served during the daytime - when many were at work. That meant stealing glances at TV's, furtive texts to find out the score, or just cutting out of work completely to see the game. That's what Daniel Ortiz did when he went to two popular watering holes to share in the experience.
