This week we have been reporting on a rash of gang related shootings on the South side of Belize City. Last night the violence spilled over to Lizarraga Avenue on the North side with 73-year-old Godfrey Jones and 40-year-old Darrel Mayen were shot at a residence.
Initial investigations revealed that last night at about 8:45 pm the men were socializing with Christopher Mayen in front of his home when two men entered the yard and fired several gunshots toward both Godfrey Jones and Darrel Mayen. Police found Jones suffering from gunshot wounds to his knees and Mayen suffering from gunshot wounds to his right leg.
They were taken to the KHMH and are in stable condition. Police investigation continues
