Man Remanded For Allegedly Killing Mayor Moya’s Brother

8 days ago, we told you about the murder of 50-year-old Michael Richard Ysaguirre, the brother of Former Belize City Mayor, Zenaida Moya. Well tonight, the man who police believe is his killer is at Belize Central Prison.

He's 41 year old James Rhaburn, aka "Faada", a fisherman of Conch Shell Bay, and he was arraigned on the charge of murder when he appeared today before Magistrate Dale Cayetano. Because it is a capital offense, Rhaburn was remanded into custody until September 15.

As we reported, the incident occurred between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on June 26. Police say that, Rhaburn and Ysaguirre had an argument a fight, when Rhaburn struck Ysaguirre in his chest with a hook stick. Two days later, Ysaguirre collapsed while he was at the fish market, and died from the injury to his chest. Reports say that a piece of fiberglass was found stuck in his chest.
