posted (July 11, 2014)
25 year-old Quinn Melinda Arnold tried to smuggle weed into prison, and tonight she's on remand at the very same facility because she was caught in the act.

The Conch Shell Bay resident went to prison to visit an inmate yesterday. As was procedure, a female prison officer told her that she had to be searched before she entered. She stripped down and allowed the officer to search her, but when the officer told her that she had to check all body cavities, she told the officer that she was menstruating. Still, that didn't stop the officer from doing her job thoroughly, and she discovered a bag of weed in the cavity her privates.

The officer informed the police who arrested her and confiscated the drugs. It was weighed in her prison, which revealed that 10 grams - or 0.3 ounces - of weed was in the bag. Arnold was charged with possession of a controlled drug, and today, when she was arraigned before the Magistrate Hettie Mae Stewart, she pleaded guilty.

Magistrate Stewart remanded her to prison until next week Tuesday, when she will pass a sentence on Arnold.
