Restaurateur Brawling With Patron?

Twenty-five year old David Heredia, the manager of a resort in Caye Caulker, was charged with wounding and common assault when he appeared yesterday before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser. Twenty-three year old Shannon Martinez, an employee of Belize Auto zone who was with Heredia, was charged with aggravated assault. They pled not guilty to the charges and Martinez was released on a bail of $1,000 while Heredia was released on a bail of $3,000. They are to return to court on September 8.

They incident occurred on July 10 at Chops Restaurant and Bar, located on Newtown Barracks. According to the allegation, Heredia caused a wound to security guard Darwin Fraser Jr and assaulted the waitress, Martha Lopez. Martinez is alleged to have thrown a metal chair at Lopez.
