But put together, in those 2 audits alone, it would suggest that just under a half a million dollars from the Ministry of Health was mismanaged or misappropriated. If this other audit into the KHMH’s purchase reveals that the transaction was dubious, that would take that number up to almost million dollars in public funds. Today, we asked the CEO about the steps being taken to try to retrieve them, and he told us that the Ministry is doing all that it can:

"Well I’m glad you mentioned it because it’s been a challenge for us, of course we are one of the largest ministries, and we understand of course there are issues in all ministries, but we indeed want to take the very proactive response of having out own audit team and so we have requested Ministry of Finance to provide the necessary support to allow us to have administrative finance officers and administrative officers to be constantly checking all of our hospitals, all of our clinics, to make sure that there is no possibility of ant reoccurrence in so far is every so possible to have a perfect system, of course there is no such thing as a completely perfect system, but we remain committed to do our very best."
