Albert Vaughan Stands Alone
posted (August 8, 2014)
On Wednesday, we told you how Prime Minister Dean Barrow moved in and made all the criminal charges disappear for the BML Workers. But, one man alone still faces charges: he is the PUP's Albert Vaughan.

Vaughan is the 54 year-old Chairman of the PUP Freetown Committee, the constituency that his boss, Opposition Leader Francis Fonseca, is the current Area Representative of. He's also one of the media personalities from the morning talk show on PUP's Vibes Radio. He claims that he was reporting for the Radio listeners, while taking pictures of the protest for the Belize Times Newspaper, when police harassed him, and detained him without reason.

Vaughan, who was supported by Fonseca, was arraigned today before Magistrate Herbert Panton on the charge of loitering in a public place. He pleaded not guilty, and was granted bail of $100 dollars. His case was then adjourned until October 7. He's being represented by Kareem Musa.
