The Gang Suppression Unit has been targeting areas where known drug peddlers operate in Belize City.
At around 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon, GSU officers searched several persons and abandoned lots in the Conch-Shell Bay area. They discovered 137 grams – or 4.83 ounces – of marijuana in an abandoned lot. No one was around, but the officers believe that the drugs belong to one of 3 peddlers in the area.
2 hours later, GSU officers then went to the Kraal Road area, where they found 2 black plastic bags containing a total of 172 grams – or 6.06 ounces – of marijuana. These drugs were found in an abandoned lot next to the Kraal Road Gang Base.
Finally, about 40 minutes later GSU personnel then went to Electric Avenue, and they searched around the perimeter of the residence of a known drug dealer. They found several plastic bags which contained a total of 91 grams – or 3.2 ounces – of marijuana.
Because all of these drugs couldn't be connected to anyone, they were deposited as found property.
