The National Youth Orchestra in collaboration with an organization call MusAid (muse-aid) will hold a concert on Saturday August 23rd at the Bliss Center. It's an exciting collaboration and the Belize Youth Orchestra's Courtney Gillet shared her excitement about the event:

Courtney Gillet, Youth Orchestra Teacher

"So on the 23rd of August at the bliss we're going to have a concert featuring Belizean musicians who are apart of the national youth orchestra and also musicians from muse-aid which a non profit organisation and they have brought in 8 fellows and they're fantastic, fantastic musicians. Some of them come from top conservatories in the United States and they're working along with our orchestra members with some pieces that we will be performing and also doing pedagogy classes for the teachers here at the orchestra and also encouraging some of the members, the students themselves to start teaching music. This concert will feature works from Pirates of the Caribbean. We'll be doing several pieces from Tchaikovsky there will also be a performance by the muse 8 fellows themselves so that is a special treat and we also have a Belizean composition and I encourage all Belizeans to come out and listen."

The concert starts at 7:30 pm on Saturday and tickets are available at the Bliss for $15 dollars. There are currently about 35 members of the National Youth Orchestra and Choir.
