Man Charged For Unitedville Murder

Tonight, 19 year-old Joseph Vaccaro Jr., a resident of Belize City, is at prison tonight following his arraignment for a murder and an attempted murder.

As we told you, 38 year-old Victor Vargas was killed after we stabbed twice in the neck, early on Saturday, August 16, in the village of Unitedville. His 19 year-old companion, who he was socializing with hours before, was suspected to be the man who attacked him. After investigation police say that they had enough evidence against Vaccaro, and yesterday he was arraigned in San Ignacio Magistrate's Court for murder. Today, he was brought to the Belize City Magistrate's for another stabbing incident which happened earlier this year.

He is now one of of 4 persons accused of being involved in an attack against 15 year old Christian Martinez. The teenager reported to the police that at around 2:30 p.m. on January 16,2014, he was standing at the corner of Lacriox Boulevard and Balam Street when a car pulled up and 3 persons got out and stabbed him several times. In January three men were charged jointly, and today, Vaccaro Jr. was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith on charges of attempted murder and dangerous harm. He was remanded into custody until September 1.
