Youth Claims GSU Officer Tried To Shoot Him
posted (September 4, 2014)
The GSU's violent intervention in the King and George Street area yesterday is still resonating in that neighborhood. Today we were called to speak with a young man who claims that when everything started yesterday, a GSU Officer tried to shoot him. He explained that it all started with an unusual car in the neighborhood:..

Voice of: victim
"Yesterday when I walk downstairs and I notice a suspicious car on the lane and the young man from downstairs was going to his grandmother and when he pass car the GSU jumped out from the car and start to beat him for no reason. So I couldn't stay in the area and so I flee from the area and I ended up reaching doe the lane. They were searching the area and one of them meet me, but I didn't run. The man (GSU) point the gun at me fired a shot. As he fired that shot I jump the fence and so I ended up escaping because I don't want to get shot for nothing."

"They might say well we fired a shot because you were running, but you are saying to me that you...."

Voice of: victim
"Yes, I understand that when you are fleeing they will fire a warming shot at you. But he didn't fire any warning shot at me. He look at me point blank in my face and fire a shot at me. I don't know how I didn't get shot and that was when I jump the fence and roll."

The GSU position - as we understand it is that - a group of men from the neighborhood had tried to circle a law enforcement vehicle in threatening way.
