Police: Tablada Helped Steal That Gun
posted (September 4, 2014)
And while police say that Craig had the stolen gun on him, the man police believe who actually stole it from Derrick Hemmans, the rightful owner, is Belize City resident Nelson Tablada. He is also at prison tonight.

31 year-old Chukka Tours Manager Derrick Hemmans told police that on Thursday, August 14, exactly 1 month ago, he had just come back from Water Caye, and he was unloading supplies from a white Chevy cargo van. He said that he drove off, and when he arrived at the NAPA roundabout, he was ambushed by an armed man who robbed him of 2 black bags which contained, $6,500 cash, and a laptop computer. The man also relieved him of his licensed 9mm pistol, which was loaded with 16 live rounds of ammunition.

That's a total value of $11,450 which the man made off with after jumping on the back of a motorcycle, which was waiting for him. While investigating this crime earlier this week, that's how they found the stolen weapon, which was allegedly in the possession of Deshawn Craig.

After three weeks of investigating, police charged Nelson Tablada with robbery, after a witness identified him as the man who was driving the getaway motorcycle. He was arraigned today before the Chief Magistrate, Ann Marie Smith, and though he pleaded not guilty, he couldn't be granted bail. He was remanded until October 22, 2014.
