7 Charged For Fabers Road Robbery
posted (September 8, 2014)
And from Minister Faber, right back to Faber's road.

On Friday, we told you about the brazen daylight robbery which the Gang Suppression Unit foiled. Well tonight, the 3 men who police say they caught in the act, are at Prison, and one of them has pleaded guilty to the crime.

Those men who police say was directly involved are 29 year-old Jareth Crawford, 21 year-old Christian Robateau, and 21 year-old Kevin Bowen. But, there are others who police believe are involved in its planning or execution, and today, they briefed the media about their investigation. Here's what they told us:

Rafael Martinez, Police Press Officer
"Quick police responds lead to the recovery of all items just over $8,000 worth of items and cash as well as the detention and now the charging of several persons."

Supt. Hilberto Romero, O.C., Crimes Investigation Branch
"Police have since arrested and charged 7 persons ranging from the crimes of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, abetment to commit robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm. Seven persons will be taken to court this afternoon for those various crimes mentioned."

At today's arraignment, Jareth Crawford was also charged with attempted murder because he allegedly shot at officer Barrington Flowers, the brother of GSU Commander, Mark Flowers. That happened, as we told you, during the men's attempted flight from the robbery. Flowers courageously managed to detain one of the men after his gun jammed, and that lead to the recovery of the loot, which police estimate at 8 thousand dollars in cash and property. He and Christian Robateau were also charged with handling stolen goods because the loot was found in his possession.

At today's arraignment, Christian Robateau pleaded guilty to the charge, but Chief Magistrate Smith adjourned his sentencing hearing, until next month.

But while those men are charged directly for it, there are others, who have been arraigned as well. They 23-year-old Seth Jones, who was charged with abetment to robbery, and 25-year -old Kareem Smith, 20-year-old John Longsworth, and 18-year-old Anis Bowen, who were jointly charged for the Crime for Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

Everyone else who was charged with either the planning or execution of the crime, were granted bail, which they were able to meet. Everyone must return to court on October 23 for their adjournment.
