And to coincide with the celebrations, for the past month and a half, NICH has been hosting a competition where patriots create and post a 3 to 5 minute video illustrating their love for country.
It's an interesting social experiment where the contestants make use of youtube and Facebook to market themselves and earn views and today, the NICH's Institute of Social and Cultural Research announced the winning 4 entries. Today, we spoke with each of winners and the contest organizers. Here's what they told us:
Janessa Teck won $1000 for her first place entry, while Vanessa Edwards won $700. Kyraan Gabourel won $500 for his third place entry, and he also won viewers choice because he got the most views on Facebook and YouTube.
