Cops Say Mechanic’s Complaint Is The Real McCoy
posted (October 1, 2014)

Then, there was the well-known mechanic, Allan McCoy who says he got a dose of beatdown from the Gang Suppression Unit after they concluded that he had knocked down one the officers attached to their unit, Constable Dejohn Cayetano.

As we told you the officer was knocked down in a hit and run at around 2 a.m. on Saturday morning, and the GSU officers believed that McCoy was the one who did it. He claims that the officers pulled him over after firing shots at him, and then they took turns brutalizing him, while refusing to accept his story that he had no involvement in the accident.

Well, today, the Professional Standards Branch investigator told us that they are treating this report very seriously:

ASP Glen Rivero - OC, Professional Standard Branch

"In the case of Mr. McCoy, that matter is still under investigation. It's a matter that have been reported to the professional standard branch since Sunday. Myself and assistant commander Leal, who is our overall commander at professional standard branch met this morning. We have been provided with a copy of the file that we have so far, so that the commissioner and the other legal team in Belmopan can go over what we have. In no way the case is close, it is ongoing and I want to assure Mr. McCoy that as long as the officers who have assaulted him is positively identified, they will be charged."

Later on, we'll tell you why McCoy's report against GSU Commander Mark Flowers will prove a bit more complicated for Professional Standards to investigate.
