City Man Killed By Two On Bike

And while there was deadly drama in Seine Bight - Belize City saw another weekend of gun violence. It started on Friday night when two men were shot at the corner of North Front and Pickstock Streets. It happened at around 8:00 when 32 year old Harrison Smith was shot as he rode his bicycle, while 23 year old Eustace Lewis was injured.

The shooters were described as two men on bicycles - who, according to police, seemed to have a plan:..

"Harrison Smith was riding his bicycle along North Front Street when 2 gun men riding on separate bicycles; one coming from the direction of Pickstock, that would be up stop and the other from the direction of North Front Street who fired several shots at him causing his fatal injury. Harrison Smith received several apparent gunshot wounds to the body and again unfortunately just after about 9:45pm he succumb to his injuries. Lewis remained in a stable condition. So far police have arrested 3 men and charged them jointly with murder and these 3 men are 26 year old Bart Lucas, of a Bride's Alley address; 26 year old Daniel Cain of a Pink's Alley Address and 18 year old Oscar Flores of a Pink's Alley address."

7-9mm shells were recovered from the area.

Harrison Smith's family declined comment today - but remembered him with a graffiti etching in front of his Police Street home.
