A brutal murder on Sunday in Independence has left 5 children without a mother. On Tuesday at 9:00 in the morning police found the body of 33 year old Ilda Aldana near the Texmar Shrimp Farm Road. Aldana had been shot 8 times - including twice to the stomach, once to the chest, and 4 times to the left side of the temple. A brutal and excessive end - but her friends say it is the culmination of a violent, possessive and abusive relationship she had with an ex cop who'd already served time for manslaughter. She lived with her 5 children and common law husband, upstairs of this house. Apparently, Aldana was having a stormy relationship with the suspect in her murder and some of her close friends say that her demise was foretold.

"She was 3-4 months pregnant. She told us that she was pregnant and she told us that she wanted to do away with the baby but the man told her no. The man told her that if she do away with the baby he will kill her. He comes at this house here and go upstairs and beat her. He met the young man there and when she tells him that this is the young man (new boyfriend) and then they start to quarrel upstairs; two of them Mr. Charles and Sheldon, then the young lady manage to come outside and goes at the neighbor's house. When the man come down he told her that if he finds her he will kill her."

"She tells me everything that the man does with her. He disturbs her along with me, when he comes to the house he disturb her and anywhere he meets her he would tell her all kind of things."
According to Aldana's friends, he was a malicious and controlling force in her life.

"When she goes at the Chinese shop to drink, Mr. Sheldon goes and harass her. If she is at the park he goes and harass her. We would be at the dance and he would come after her and take her."

"See his kid here. The baby was born with hernia and right now he is not feeling good. We want justice, only that. She was my friend and I knew her from 2012 and there was this man in her life like a bad luck - he just walks into her life and makes everything bad."
Given how "bad" the relationship was, her friends advised her to get out but in the name of love, she stayed.

"We told her to please get out of his life and she said that she loves him and that she can't leave him."
Although Aldana's friends knew about the fiery affair, her death still stunned the neighborhood.

"I was really shocked today when her husband call me and tell me that if I know that my "cumadre" is dead and I tell him that I didn't believe it and I ask him more than one time he tells me yes because he said that he is with the body and I came over her house and found her children in the house."
The commander of the Independence Southern Formation was unavailable for comment and officers at the station would not assist with information - but her boyfriend, an ex police officer has reportedly been detained.
We cannot release his name - until and unless he is charged - but we can say that he had killed a man in the line of duty and was convicted of manslaughter for which he was sentenced to 13 years.
