But will Cervantes, in his effort to topple a powerful incumbent, use his murder conspiracy narrative against Vega? "It's been something hard. I've given it a lot of thought and I've spoken to my family about it and my family is in full support of me going ahead as a candidate of Orange Walk North. As a matter of fact that is what my dad would have wanted. My dad was a very brave and courageous man and I know if he could come directly to speak to me he would say don't worry about me, I am in a good place and you go ahead with your election."
Jules Vasquez
"Do you think it will help you in your campaign having put out a narrative which implicates your opponent? Is it something you will say 'you can't trust that guy because he is involve in X.Y.Z?'"

"I don't know Jules, that's for the people to decide. Elections are for the people. Elections belong to the people. That's all I can say. Frankly I wish this would never have happen. I've always said I wish this was a bad dream, and someday I will wake up and this is not true and I could carry on with a normal life, but it's not, unless it's a dream within a dream."
Vega's supporters tell us they will have a rally for him in Orange Walk North on Sunday.
