And while we had the opportunity, we asked the new CEO about the recent KHMH audit conducted by the Auditor General. The audit was to look into the acquisition of an X-Ray machine and other supplies at the KHMH for what are reported to be exorbitant prices.
Today, Dr. Coye confirmed that the audit has been completed, and that it is in the hands of the KHMH Board. We tried our best to ask about its contents, but Dr. Coye told us that he cannot release any details before the Board has properly reviewed and decided on a course of action to address it. Here's how that conversation went:

"What can you tell us about it at this time?"

"Well all I can say is that the Auditor General's reports which was commissioned I believe by the Prime Minister has been done and that it will be reviewed by the board and from there we can make comments related to that. But that is something in the hands of the board."

"Have you read it?"

"I can't say that because it's in the hands of the board and it's for their purpose for that discussion."

"When was it completed and when was it handed over to the KHMH?"
Dr. (Mr.) Adrian Coye - CEO, KHMH
"I don't know when it was handed over. I just know that they do have it and the board will have to meet to discuss the findings of that report."

"Any set date as to when they will meet?"
Dr. (Mr.) Adrian Coye - CEO, KHMH
"I believe it would be early in December they will be able to do that."

"Will the findings be made public?"
Dr. (Mr.) Adrian Coye - CEO, KHMH
"Well I think all these types of reports eventually become public most often way before officially, so I think the practice has been for these types of reports to be placed on one of the ministry's website. So most likely that how it will be release in that way."

"It is anticipated that the issue surrounding the former financial director will be addressed in that audit."

"Well I believe that was the basis or partly the basis for the audit to happen, so again it's not in my purview to be able to discuss that aspect of it and I just await then the review by the board regarding that."

"Will any legal action happen if the audit points out that there were some misappropriation on behalf of Pererra?"

"This again is in the purview of the board. You just wait for them to see and make those kinds of decisions."

"There has been this perception I think around the time when that audit was commissioned that KHMH was in a financial difficult position at the time. As the CEO can you discuss with us how healthy is the hospital in terms of its financial capabilities?"

"It is too early for me to be able to discuss that aspect in terms of what you question is leading to. We are not in a bad position, but as I say I am not in a position to say anything more about that."
