Lino – Alleged Andrew Tate Gunman – Limps Into Court
posted (November 17, 2014)
Tonight, 22 year old Carl Lino, the alleged gunman who reportedly targeted Andrew Tate in a broad daylight shooting, is at the Belize Central Prison.

As we told you, that shooting happened right in front of Eden Site Alley, which adjoins Majestic Alley, just after 2:00 on Wednesday afternoon. That's just a few hundred feet from the center of the city, and shooting Victim Andrew Tate told police that he was riding his bicycle on North Front Street, when a gunman opened fire on him.

The man fired 3 shots at him, one of which struck him in the back of the head. As soon as he went down, the shooter ran in the direction of Pinks Alley, but an off duty officer joined up with two others on foot patrol to run him down. They set chase and one of them shot the fleeing gunman in the leg, and that's when the chrome .38 special revolver he had in his hand fell to the ground. He was detained, and that weapon was retrieved by the pursuing officers. Both men were rushed to the KHMH where they were treated for their injuries.

Lino was charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm, keeping an unlicensed firearm, and keeping unlicensed ammunition. He was arraigned today before the Chief Magistrate, Ann Marie Smith, who took his not guilty plea for the firearm offenses only. The others are indictable offenses, and so he wasn't eligible for bail. Lino was remanded until his next court date, scheduled for January 15, 2015.

Lino's sister told the media that police shot her brother for no reason and then planted a weapon on him. She claims that he had just left to buy cigarettes.
