It's a significant achievement for these athletes to have brought home 5 medals and they told us us about the experience:

Stanley Moody, President - BBBFF
"This tournament was the Central American Championships. It entailed all the countries of Central America; Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador (who was the host country), Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica and unfortunately Panama was the only country that didn't show up this year. But it was a championship which entailed all the different categories of bodybuilding. This year unfortunately we didn't take any females to the championship. We felt that we were going there to try and win medals and we don't think that the females were prepared to go and compete on that level at this time. But next year they should be ready."

Geovannie Brackett, reporter
"Tell us about the results. I've seen some trophies come back. Tell us what we placed in the different categories."

Stanley Moody, President - BBBFF
"Actually we did quite well. We came back with 5 trophies this year. We had 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze."

Oyinkro Akpobodor
"I got first place overall. It was a real surreal experience, I had some great competitors beside me, and came top overall."

Clayton Greenidge
"I went last year. I was quite disappointed. I did not get a trophy. So I told myself that this year I got to go back and come home with something. In the masters I placed second. In the up to 85 category I came in third."

Rigo Vellos
"I competed in the over 85 kilos which was the highest weight class they had there. The experience was a much learnt experience. I came in second in the category. It was a very hard category as all the other categories. It's always other level when you are competing internationally and I am just happy that Belize is back on the map when it comes to bodybuilding in Central America."
