Cop Sent To Jail For Sexual Assault On Woman Constable

Police Constable Randolph Scott is spending the first night of 2 month prison sentence after he was convicted of indecent assault in the court room of the Chief Magistrate.

One of his female colleagues, also a constable, testified that he incident occurred on October 26, 2013, at Belama Police Station. The female officer, a constable, testified that Scott touched her legs, pulled up her skirt and pushed his hand inside her skirt. She also testified that Scott was touching her inappropriately, he then unzipped his fly and exposed himself to her. Her testimony was corroborated by that of another officer who was on duty at the time.

In his defence, Scott testified that he and the complainant were only having a laugh. He added that while he was making the sexual advances, she had consented to all of them.

After reviewing all the evidence, Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith found him guilty of the offense and sentenced him to spend 2 months in jail.
