posted (December 31, 2014)

We've reported numerous times on residential burglaries, but have you ever heard of someone stealing an entire house? That's what's police believe that 29 year-old Kevin Castillo did.

The theft happened between June and August of this year, and according to the complainant, Pamela Sealy, she built a wooden bungalow house on a piece of land in the Set Site area of Lake Independence. She says that she left it vacant for a few weeks, and when she came back, the house was broken down, and all the materials had been stolen.

Police investigated and they charged Castillo with theft. He was arraigned yesterday before the Senior Magistrate, Sharon Frazer, where he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of $2,000 dollars. His case has been adjourned until February 16.

In another story of high value theft, Police believe that 19 year-old Jessica Beeks stole over ten thousand dollars' worth of jewellery from her employer.

The complainant, Nicola Longsworth, reported to police that Beeks was working for her as a maid on Boxing day, and that's around the time when over $11,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from her house. Police investigated and were able to recover all the stolen items. They then charged Beeks with theft.

She was arraigned on Monday, where she pleaded not guilty and was offered bail of $10,000. She must return to court at a later date, but the case may be dropped against her. That's because her former employer has indicated to police that she doesn't want any further court action, given that all the stolen possessions were recovered.
