On Monday, we told you how Belize City Mayor Darrell Bradley had stripped two-term councilor Deon Leslie of his sanitation portfolio with just weeks
left in the council's term. The portfolio was re-assigned to BQ Pitts Jr and Phillip Willoughby. But, since then, things have changed again. The Prime
Minister today told us that from what he's heard – the portfolio has been re-assigned to Leslie.
We asked Leslie about it at today's UDP Press conference where he refused to comment on camera – and only told us that all is well between he and the
Mayor.
Sources close to the mayor tell us that the two met on Monday evening – where they ironed out their differences, and the mayor re-instated Leslie's
portfolio. And while the status quo is preserved, it has to be a major downer for Pitts and Willoughby – who had quite suddenly come into what is now
the council's biggest portfolio – only to have it taken back a few days later.
