Matura Detained As a Consequence of Willoughby
posted (January 28, 2015)

According to residents of Arlington Drive – they first saw 25 year old Emmanuel Willoughby on Monday evening when he was dropped off in the area by a taxi cab. Willoughby allegedly told 3 men who were standing on the street that he had just robbed a grocery store in Cayo and had hijacked the taxi cab to bring him to Belize City. Less than 5 minutes after police spotted Willoughby in the area and chased him. The escapee managed to jump a fence and fled the vicinity. Police then continued to search the men in the area and found a cell phone which they believed belonged to the owner of the grocer store in Cayo. The phone was found on 30 year old Delroy Matura – and he was taken to San Ignacio Magistrate Court where he was charged with handling stolen goods. But according to Matura's family, Willoughby had dropped the phone while attempting to run from police and had no connections with Delroy Matura who had only picked up the phone.
