On another case of post delivery mishaps, 25 year old Norma Noemi Marroquin delivered a child at the private Spanish Lookout Clinic on January fifth, 2015. But, within a week, she came down with a severe and painful infection. That's when she ended up at the KHMH where she had emergency surgery on the thirteenth of January and died 3 days later. Doctors told her husband that her ovary had burst inside her as a result of an infection caused by the child's placenta being left inside her. It is a case of maternal mortality that has left a newborn without a mother, and the private and public healthcare system with a black eye.
