Public Service Employee Assistance Program
posted (March 19, 2015)
Happy public officers translate into to happy clients. That is the main idea behind the newly launched Belize Public Service Employee Assistance Program. It was launched today at the George Price Center and it will provide educational and counselling services to public officers. Now 'happy' isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think about the public service. Some of you do think about the sometimes dry and almost robotic or monotonous voice on the other end of the line when you call government departments or the sometimes callous and unkind customer service. Well, according to program coordinator Shawn Vargas, this reality is as a result of the personal and professional problems that public officers endure and fail to address. Vargas told us how this program will change that.

Public servants will have access to 25 professional counselors countrywide.
