City Shooter Suspect To Court

28 year-old Belize City resident Kareem Stevens had to receive medical treatment at the KHMH this weekend after he was shot early on Saturday morning. 25 year-old Curlan Phillips, the man police believe was the trigger man, is at the Belize Central Prison Tonight.

According to police, Stevens reported that at around 5:19 a.m. on Saturday, he was riding his bicycle on his way home. As soon as he arrived at the intersection of the Central American Boulevard and Fabers Road, he was reportedly approached by a black SUV. Stevens claims that when he looked closely at it, he saw that one of the occupants pulled out of a black firearm and fired several shots at him. He was struck by the bullets on right leg, and the left side of his buttocks, and he had to be hospitalized those injuries.

Well, police investigated the shooting incident and they charged Phillips ot 2 with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm. Due to the nature of the offences, he couldn't be granted bail, and he was remanded to the prison until June 21, his next court date.
