Cops Say OW Home Invasion Bot Related To Double Murder
posted (March 23, 2015)
Earlier we told you about the teenager double murder in Orange Walk. That town also saw a home invasion and shooting this weekend. On Saturday night - shortly after the double murder - 41-year-old Rosendo Santana was at home at #19 Progress Street, when someone called his name. He opened the front door when and saw a man dressed in dark clothing with a hood over his head who pulled out a pistol and fired two shots at him.

He was hit in the left shoulder. Though the timing, description and weapon are similar to the earlier double murder police say they are not related:

Reporter "What were the shells on the scene if any?"

Supt. Dennis Arnold, O.C., Orange Walk Police
"9mm."

Reporter
"Okay, that kind of fit the description of the trigger man of the double murder, according to eyewitness. Is there a link perhaps?"

Supt. Dennis Arnold, O.C., Orange Walk Police
"No, we don't think that it's a link, because if you can recall that there was an invasion at the bakery. Mr. Santana is a salesman at the bakery and we are looking at that shooting that it's a link between the robbers there and Mr. Santana."

The victim was treated and released form the northern regional hospital. Police recovered (2) 9 mm expended shells from the scene.
