Tonight a 37 year old mother is lucky to be alive, after she became the latest victim of gun violence. The shooting happened around 9:30 last night on
Freedom Street. According to police, Stephanie Bood was walking to her home on Justice Street when a vehicle pulled up beside her and someone from
inside opened fire. Bood was shot to her right hand and buttocks and is currently hospitalized in a stable but critical condition. For her family, it
is the worst kind of déjà vu since her common law Paul Rubio was murdered 7 months ago. But, fortunately she survived and today we spoke to a friend
who told us he heard 4 shots rang out.

"I hear 4 shots."

"Then you ran out here?"
Friend of Stephanie Bood
"Yes, to save my friend because I knew my friend just went to buy, right - and I'm here for her all the time."

"So when you came out, what did you see?"
Friend of Stephanie Bood
"I saw 4 boys picking her up and seeing what happened to her. She was still speaking but she didn't tell me anything but the guy said let's take to the
hospital because she is in a very critical condition."

"Do you know to what part of the body she got shot?"

"Her abdomen, I felt was bleeding. They said it was about 3 shot, one in the arm didn't bother her much but the one that was bleeding the most was the
abdomen. I no believe this would happen to her because she doesn't mess with nobody. She's not into gang banging and thing, she just hangs out and
she's friends with everybody."

"Last night she left home to go to the store?"

"Yes ma'am. If she came and told me she needed something I would have gone buy it for her instead of her coming out and get shot you know. It would
have been me."
