Denfield’s Family Speaks
posted (May 4, 2015)
As we told you earlier, it's now four days since Denfield Bowen has gone missing. The father of 4 children and one on the way was last seen by his common-law-wife on Thursday evening.

He told her he would be back in a few but that turned into hours and now days since he has been missing. A missing person report was made on Friday morning and since then the family of Bowen has been searching for him all over the city. A search was conducted today in the Dyke area off Fabers Road - where family members and members of the George Street Gang with dogs combed the area - but nothing was found. Today we spoke to family members who told us all they want is the body of their loved one and some closure.

Claudine Dawson, Common-law-wife
"He and I were in the shop about 5pm and he made a call and say "what's up B, I am coming." After that I look at my watch and it was twenty past he left home on Thursday evening. He left home and I sat down in the shop. After 6:30, I ask myself how he hasn't come home as yet. 7pm, I went upstairs and I put the baby to sleep and I went to take a bath and around 7:30 I call his father and he didn't answer. I went to lay down because I got mad, because he is not that type of person who goes and doesn't come home or who doesn't answers his phone. After 9pm, his father ask how come he is not at home yet. About after 10pm, we decided to check the police station. When we went, he was not there. The next day I made a report of a missing person. They say that they will put it out, but they didn't do anything. You hear them saying that it's just another "Gaza" man. That is not right, because he is not an animal, he is a human being. I don't know what to do. He need to come home to his children."

"This is the first time that he has gone for this long? Or even gone without telling you where he is?"

Claudine Dawson, Common-law-wife
"Yes ma'am. This is the first time, because he is not a person that goes a long time from his house. If he even goes, when I would call, he would answer."

Monica Bodden
"At this time, the family believes that something may have gone wrong?"

Claudine Dawson, Common-law-wife
"Yes Ma'am, because first thing, we would have come, because his father and mother are here. He would have come home. I believe that something happened to him. And if they know they did him anything, they need to say for us to find his body at least."

Monica Bodden
"The police isn't doing anything?"

Claudine Dawson, Common-law-wife
"The police are a waste of time. They came here this morning and say that they will come back. They haven't come back yet. What do they think? That we don't want to find our loved one. We want to bury our family and give him a good burial if he have already passed. Not because we lives on Plues Street we are animals. We need justice to. Unless they want us to take our own justice. If we take our justice, they would come here and treat us like animals."

"He left home in a yellow cargo pants and a green Nike slippers and this tennis that he has here was inside his vehicle - a red Mazda pick-up two door. They must could see that. If you see him, you could call me or text me."

Anyone with any clues as to his whereabouts can contact his family at telephone number 6-6-0-9-7-5-9.
