Monica Bodden reporting
Around 2 this afternoon police responded to a shooting scene on Gill Street- where neighbors heard as many as 30 gunshots ring out in one of the city's known gang turf. Our news team arrived just minutes after, by then things were relatively calm again - while a handful of police officers conducted their investigation.

Up the street - in another gang territory - police conducted searches on random vehicles in the area looking for the 3 alleged gunmen.

Meanwhile the two victims - 30 year old Maurice Felix and Mykael Anthony were already rushed to the KHMH. Felix was shot to the leg while Anthony received 2 gunshot wounds to the back and one to the leg.

When we got to the KHMH - police officers guarded the front gate at the Emergency entrance.Felix's Younger brother - Emory Felix was denied access to see his older brother. Up until this evening, Anthony is in a critical but stable condition while Felix is stable.

From what we understand, the group of men were standing in front of a house on Gill Street cleaning a car - when 3 gunmen walked to the end of Sanker Street and opened fire on them. As many as 30 shots were fired in their direction- 4 hitting Felix and Anthony. The other men managed to jump the nearby drain and escape.

But who would be so bold to open fire in broad daylight in one of the well known gang turf? According to the group of men - they strongly believe police may have had something to do with the shooting.

But they say Just 15 minutes before the gunplay on Gill Street, they were thoroughly searched down by police along with their surroundings. Nothing was found on them - meaning they were not armed; shortly after the 3 gunmen pulled up. It's a huge accusation to make but one they very much believe.

And just a note, we were told that Mykael Anthony does not reside on Gill Street nor is he known to be about in a gang. The father of 3 was riding to work when someone asked him to borrow his bike to make a quick run to the store. He was allegedly caught innocently standing on the side of the street.

Police have been conducting extensive searches in the area but no arrests have been made.
