Tanisha Took It To The Bank, Police Say

31 year-old Tanisha Sutherland, a mother of 5, is the Belize Central Prison after she was taken to court for allegedly forging cheques and cashing them at the bank.

The complainant, Saba Badi, reported to police that between October 2, 2014 and December 12, 2014, Sutherland worked for him, and it was during that time that she forged 11 of his Scotia Bank cheques in her name and cashed them. She allegedly made off with $3,589 dollars through this scheme.

Police charged her with 11 counts of forgery, and 1 count of theft, and when she was arraigned before Magistrate Ladonna John, the police prosecutor objected to the court granting her bail. After consideration, Magistrate John upheld the objections and remanded Sutherland until June 24.
